AI cover letter generator — built for ATS and recruiters

A great cover letter does two things at once: it gets through the ATS, and it makes a human recruiter actually want to call you back. Our AI cover letter generator handles both. It reads the job offer and your resume, identifies the three or four specific points where your experience matches what the company is hiring for, and writes a one-page letter in your chosen tone — formal, warm, or direct.

Every letter is generated fresh from your inputs. No template fill-in-the-blanks. The AI references real bullets from your resume, names the company correctly, mirrors the language of the offer, and avoids the generic phrasing recruiters spot in seconds ("I am writing to express my interest…"). Output runs in 30 seconds, and you can regenerate as many times as you want.

Bilingual EN/FR is built in: paste a French job offer, get a French letter; paste an English offer, get an English letter. The tone selector controls register: formal for traditional industries (finance, law, government), warm for people-first roles (HR, customer success, healthcare), direct for tech and startup contexts where brevity is valued.

How the AI cover letter generator works

  1. 1.Paste the offer & your resume

Drop in the full job posting and your existing resume. Anything we've already extracted in /analyze is reused automatically — no need to re-enter.

  2. 2.Pick the company, role and tone

Set the exact company name and role title so the letter is concrete. Pick formal / warm / direct based on the industry and culture you're applying to.

  3. 3.Generate

Click "Generate letter". The AI produces a one-page letter referencing your actual experience and the offer's specifics, in 30 seconds.

  4. 4.Refine & export

Edit any sentence inline. Re-generate if you want a different angle. Export to PDF or copy-paste into the recruiter's web form.

Tone settings

  • Warm — people-first roles (HR, customer success, healthcare, education)
  • Direct — tech and startup contexts; brevity and concrete claims
  • Bilingual — letters match the language of the job offer automatically

AI cover letter generator — FAQ

The cover letter feature uses your AI provider API key. You bring the key, we generate the letter — no markup, no per-letter fee from Similator Pro. The platform itself is free during our launch period.
No. The master prompt forbids fabrication. The AI only references experience from your actual resume. If a job offer asks for a skill you don't have, the AI flags it rather than inventing it.
Our prompt is specifically tuned against the obvious tells of AI writing — no "In today's fast-paced world", no "I am writing to express", no four-syllable adjective clusters. The output reads like a thoughtful human draft, but you should always review and personalize the final version.
The language of the letter matches the language of the offer. For French applications (France, Quebec, Belgium, Switzerland) the letter uses French conventions including the formal closing. For English applications (US, UK, Canada) it uses the local conventions you select.
Yes. Each letter is saved with the resume and offer that generated it, so you can come back, tweak it for a slightly different role, and re-export without starting over.
One page, three to four short paragraphs. The generator targets this length by default. Going longer is the most common mistake: recruiters spend about 11 seconds on a cover letter and almost never read beyond the first half-page.
